Center for the Next Generation (CNXT), Institute for Promotion of Higher Education, Kobe University hosted a delegation of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) from Malaysia and held a program “Educational Visit to Kobe University 2025”. It was held on November 27 and 28 at Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Medtech Innovation Center (MIC), Graduate School of Human Development and Environment, and Graduate School of Engineering.

The purpose of the student delegation’s visit to Kobe University was to enhance their motivation for their research and broaden their research horizons through experiences with the professors engage internationally cutting-edge research.
The delegation was composed of students belonging to Engineering field. Therefore, the short program and the lab tour introducing of Graduate School of Medicine Department of Medical Device Engineering at MIC were conducted by Professor Keiko GION of the Graduate School of Medicine for the first part. Secondly, Professor Nobuko OHMIDO of the Graduate School of Human Development and Environment introduced to Kobe University and Graduate School of Human Development and Environment followed by several lab tours with the faculty members, Professor Atsushi TANI, Assistant Professor Tatsuya SAGA, Associate Professor Kosuke KUROSAWA. Finally, an introduction to Graduate School of Engineering was given by Professor Hitoshi ASANO of the Graduate School of Engineering and several lab tours led by faculty members, Professor Isaku KANNO, Associate Professor Hirotaka HIDA, Assistant Professor SangHyo Kweon were conducted. Through these various programs, the participants were very interested in each research as well as experimental apparatuses with active question, it resulted in more promotion academic exchange.




In addition, the student delegation also visited the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Memorial Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution. They learned some key points through those exhibitions and workshops, diverse specialist’s highly specialized knowledge and skills played a very important role to recover from Hanshin-Awaji earthquake disaster primarily, the importance of collaboration between each local governments, citizens and specialists, and these positive actions contribute to nature disaster prevention soon, for example.
A certificate of participation to the program was presented by Professor Ohmido, Director of Center for the Next Generation at the graduation ceremony on the final day of the program. Exchange meetings between Kobe University students from Malaysia and the student delegation were also held over a HALAL lunch meeting at restaurant SAKURA and at a Farewell Party conducted in the style of Japanese traditional tea ceremony.


Admissions Division, Center for the Next Generation aims to further promote international academic exchange through like these programs that we host university guests from overseas.
